Port Gregory

Minimize

This is the perfect secluded holiday spot. Only 1 hour north of Geraldton it makes an ideal base from which to explore Kalbarri, Northampton, Horrocks and Geraldton.

Port Gregory lies near the mouth of the Hutt River. A great place for snorkelling and swimming as it is encircled by 5 km of exposed coral.

The port was originally developed to serve the Geraldine Lead mine, but now operates as a fishing village.

Other attractions are a pink lake (Hutt Lagoon) and the remains of historic convict settlements. Sandford’s House is a most impressive example of the convict labour. The double storey house was built in 1853 from limestone for the Superintendant. In sharp contrast are the ruins of the Lynton Holding Depot where the convicts were held. Gallery
